Upcycling A Dress

For this project, I reworked an old, distressed dress and gave it new life through thoughtful reconstruction. The original garment showed signs of wear, so I approached the design as an upcycling exercise, focusing on improving both fit and function while preserving the character of the fabric.

I added adjustable straps to the back of the top to allow for a better, more flexible fit. An elastic waistband was incorporated into the skirt for comfort and ease of wear, and the ruffles were hand-sewn to add movement and texture. These changes transformed the original dress into a refreshed two-piece look that feels intentional and wearable.
