Adaptive Wear
Through my coursework, I worked closely with individuals with disabilities to design adaptive apparel that was meaningful, functional, and easy to use. Throughout the semester, I collaborated directly with models, listening to their feedback and learning how different design choices could either support or complicate their daily routines.
This process pushed me to design with intention and empathy, focusing on comfort, independence, and ease of wear. I incorporated features such as magnetic closures, simplified construction, and thoughtful silhouettes to support individuals with limited mobility, while still keeping the garments modern and fashion-forward.
This experience strengthened my understanding of inclusive design and taught me the importance of designing alongside real people. It challenged me to think beyond appearance and focus on how clothing can truly improve everyday life.
